SAG-AFTRA Press Conference Delayed Until 3 p.m. for Vote Results

SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher was set to hold a press conference today at 2 p.m. to reveal the results of the National Board Vote on the tentative agreement reached with the studios. However, the guild has just announced that the press conference has been pushed back and will now take place at 3 p.m.

Drescher, along with National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland and members of the TV/Theatrical Negotiating Committee, will review details of the agreement. While the board is expected to approve the pact and the strike was declared over as of 12:01 a.m. PT on Thursday, the agreement will still need to be ratified by a vote from SAG’s full membership in the coming weeks.

The tentiave agreement, valued at over one billion dollars, includes ‘above-pattern’ minimum compensation increases, provisions for consent and compensation to protect members from the threat of AI, and establishes a streaming participation bonus. The deal also includes significant increases for background performers and protections for diverse communities.

The AMPTP issued a statement on Wednesday, calling the tentative agreement a “new paradigm” and noting that it gives SAG-AFTRA the biggest contract-on-contract gains in the history of the union.

The press conference can be watched in the player provided. Stay tuned for further updates on the results of the National Board Vote and the details of the tentative agreement.
