On Thursday PSOE and Junts closed their agreement to invest Pedro Sánchez. This Friday PNV does it and thus the socialist candidate ensures all the support to be re-elected President of the Government.
Andoni Ortuzar and Pedro Sánchez will seal their signature on the agreement this Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Congress of Deputies. Now all that remains is to know the date for the investiture debate days, which are expected to be November 15 and 16.
Despite the historically good relations between PNV and PP, the PSOE has maintained the Basques as priority partners, as in the last legislature. The Basque Nationalist Party refused to invest Alberto Núñez Feijóo because it had the support of the 33 Vox deputies.
Agreement with the PNV… and with the Canarian Coalition
After the agreement reached with the PNV, the PSOE has managed to close an agreement with the Canarian Coalition in the last few hours, an agreement that both parties will sign throughout this Friday. The agreement will be signed this Friday with the spokesperson for the Canary Coalition, Cristina Valido, and will allow Pedro Sánchez to be invested with the greatest parliamentary support expected: 179 votes.
Canarian Coalition has issued a statement announcing that this agreement has been reached for the good of the Canary Islands: “With only one representative, we have the opportunity for the Canary Islands to count in Madrid in the next four years. That the demands and problems that concern “the Canary Islands are managed as we deserve. If we say yes, the Canary Islands will count for the future Government. If we say no, others will be the ones to decide for the Canary Islands,” the document reads.
New night of riots
On the last night, riots occurred again in Ferraz due to the PSOE agreements with the Catalan nationalists and the amnesty. The seventh night of protests ended with 24 arrested and 7 police officers injured.
