The Coco dating site once again singled out. Eight minors, boys aged 14 to 18, were indicted in Amboise (Indre-et-Loire) for aggravated extortion after having trapped and defrauded several men on this controversial online discussion platform known to be the home of numerous cases of fraud and assault.
The teenagers had gotten into the habit of pretending to be young girls and holding discussions of a sexual nature with men with whom they ended up meeting in the real world. Over the past two weeks, reports France Bleu, citing the gendarmes, at least four to five victims have been attacked and robbed of their money, telephone and sometimes even their clothes.
If seven of these teenagers were arrested in Amboise, an eighth was arrested in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), adds The New Republic. These arrests took place on Tuesday. An investigation was opened to discover possible other victims. The suspects were placed under judicial supervision.
