Four alleged perpetrators of the kidnapping of Luis Manuel Díaz, father of Colombian soccer player Luis Díaz, were captured in the last few hours, according to the Police.

According to the entity, those captured would be members of the criminal group ‘Los Primos’, which was dismantled thanks to coordinated work by the Police, the Prosecutor’s Office, the CTI and authorities of the United Kingdom.

Luis Manuel Díaz was kidnapped on October 28 and remained in captivity until Thursday, November 9. Although the ELN acknowledged responsibility for the crime, some versions indicate that the kidnapping was carried out by common criminals who “sold” the kidnapped person to that guerrilla organization.

The authorities have also indicated to some national media that, over the next few hours, they hope to provide greater details of the operation that led to the capture of these four people. At the moment they have said that the criminal organization to which they belong has a presence in several municipalities of La Guajira and supports the Gulf Clan in that region of the country with extortion, cocaine transportation and selective murder.

The arrest of these four men could lead the authorities to confirm one of the many hypotheses that arose in the midst of the kidnapping of the soccer star’s father, since the idea that he had initially been kidnapped by a criminal group began to be considered. which he would later have handed over to Mr. Díaz, to the Northern Front of the ELN.

The armed group recognized on November 2 that it had lowered its power over Mr. Luis Manuel, but that it would do everything possible to achieve his release “as soon as possible.” They were days of anguish for the family and indignation in Colombia, in a case that was also widely covered in the international media.

This Thursday, around 1:00 pm, the father of the Colombian soccer player completely regained his freedom with the support of the Military Forces and the Catholic Church, in the city of Valledupar.
