The release of the clip Wanna Dance, by former gospel singer Priscilla, brought costumes and choreography that completely deviate from the profile that was maintained by her during her time as a Christian artist. For pastor Yago Martins, everything she is presenting was already part of his worldview.

In a Stories shared this Friday morning, November 10, Priscilla declared that she was “very happy” with the result achieved with her new video in partnership with Bonde do Tigrão, a group that made a name for itself in funk in the 2000s.

“We had a really incredible launch, and I just wanted to say thank you and say that this is literally just the beginning. It’s very gratifying for me to have the opportunity to show people who already followed me and are following me from now on, the artist that I am, that I want to be, that I have to be now. So, I’m very happy”, declared Priscilla.

According to her, part of the satisfaction comes from the applause received in the secular environment: “Seeing people’s feedback and responses improves everything. I’m very happy. I’m reading everything, following everything, we’re first [no] ‘Em Alta’ on YouTube. Thank you very much, keep listening, enjoying. There’s much more to come. I just wanted to say that I am very happy, very satisfied, and I knew everything would work out”, she concluded.

Change?

Pastor Yago Martins was asked on Instagram about the subject: “I know the topic is boring, but how do you analyze Priscilla’s change? Do you think it’s the result of moral bankruptcy?” asked a follower.

The presenter of the Dois Dedos de Teologia channel responded objectively, pointing to the reality of the evangelical segment: “Zero change. It was all there. The young gospel that has already normalized the culture’s uncompromising type of Christianity.”

Yago addressed, indirectly, the theme of the Christian worldview, a subject little taught in Brazil about how Christianity shapes and commissions Christians in their relationship with society. This perception was also used by speaker Vitória Reis:

“Relativization has its price. I don’t understand the surprise now, after all, it wasn’t out of nowhere. Increasingly, the secular standards of this world have found space in churches. The bill arrives, it always arrives. Allowing secularism to invade our environments through ‘small’ destructive ideas has consequences,” she analyzed, in a carousel published on Instagram.

Quoting the apostle Paul’s second letter to Timothy (4:2-5), Vitória stated that the enemies of the cross “no longer need to physically destroy the churches, they just need to take over the minds of Christians”: “The damage is right in front of our faces. Just do not see who does not want! I hope this whole ‘controversy’ serves as a warning to us. We have a lot of work to be done!”, concluded Vitória Reis.
