Hublot and Takashi Murakami unveil limited edition MP-15 watch

Following the success of their collaborative MP Model unveiled at Only Watch, Hublot and Takashi Murakami are back at it again with the release of the limited edition MP-15 watch. The new timepiece showcases a transparent design, a departure from Murakami’s usual vibrant colors, and features the central flying tourbillon, fused seamlessly into a singular entity.

Limited to just 50 examples, the 42mm MP-15 watch is a stunning display of intricate mechanics, with a sapphire case, caseback, crown, translucent flange, and strap, allowing sunlight to pass through and illuminate the floral motif crafted entirely from sapphire. The watch also features a 150-hour power reserve and a USB-rechargeable stylus for winding.

Despite the absence of color, Murakami’s playful touch is still present in the watch’s mechanics, with two twinkling eyes and a smile integrated into the tourbillon. The watch also boasts technical innovations such as peripheral hours and minutes indications and skeletonized components for an unobstructed view of the intricate workings.

“I’m very proud of the result!” shared Murakami, expressing his excitement for the new chapter of absolute transparency in his work.

The Hublot and Takashi Murakami MP-15 watch is set to retail for 300,000 CHF or approximately $320,000 USD and will be available through enquiry only via the watchmaker’s official site.

The collaboration between Hublot and Takashi Murakami continues to push the boundaries of watch design and craftsmanship, delivering a timepiece that seamlessly combines artistic expression with mechanical innovation.
