The information was provided by the FPF this Sunday afternoon. Pepe, FC Porto’s central defender, is out of the Portuguese options for the clashes against Liechtenstein and Iceland.

The experienced defender, who was part of the choices announced by Roberto Martínez last Friday, picked up an injury last Saturday. Against Vitória SC, Pepe left in the 67th minute, due to a muscle injury.

Thanks to the injury, according to the FPF, Pepe “is not in a position to make his contribution in Portugal’s games with Liechtenstein and Iceland.”

For the AA team, the defender already has 134 international caps, where he took advantage to score eight goals.
