A new controversy broke out on social networks, after a video began to circulate this Sunday in which the Minister of Sports Astrid Rodríguez is seen giving the opening speech of the 2023 National Games, an event that is based in the Coffee Region. and which has delegations of athletes from all over the country.
It drew a lot of viewers’ attention when, on the night of this Saturday, November 11, the minister spoke because, as could also be seen through the transmission that Signal Colombia made, she seemed to have difficulties communicating her words. and she looked uncomfortable, which some interpreted to mean that she was drunk.

From the first moment, after greeting, Rodríguez’s words came out haltingly, with strange repetitions and, sometimes, with pauses and abrupt changes in the tone of the speech.
In the background, in fact, shouts and whistles from the attendees could be heard. For this reason, many interpreted that she could have been under the influence of intoxicating drinks and that was why they were booing her. However, the Ministry issued a statement this morning in which they stated that there were unexpected technical problems with the sound, specifically with the audio return.
“This inconvenience temporarily affected the quality of the live broadcast, resulting in distortion of the minister’s voice. “We want to assure you that the minister is in perfect health,” they indicated in the statement.
The ministry also reported that once the problem was known, they solved it so that the rest of the ceremony would not be affected.
The truth is that the official managed to give the entire speech, which lasted about 4 minutes. “Just as in ancient games, these games are used to consolidate peace. “This is a call for these sporting events to generate the total peace that we long for,” said the minister, after which a kind of booing was heard from the attendees, which made her look uncomfortable.

This fact caused a stir on social networks. Several citizens made jokes and criticized the possibility that the Petro official had too many drinks just before facing the attendees of the important event.

The opening ceremony of the contest took place on Saturday from 7:00 pm, at the Hernán Ramírez Villegas stadium, in Pereira.
Representatives of the delegations that will participate in the Games were at the opening of the competitions, which run until November 25 with conventional athletes and until December 10 with the disabled group.
