Operation Deep Freeze is the fourth and final season of Rainbow Six Siege Year 8, bringing along a new operator, map, playlist changes, and much more. With a release date set for November 28, 2023, players can expect a plethora of new changes and additions to the game.
The upcoming season, Operation Deep Freeze, will introduce Tubarao, the new operator hailed from Ponta Delgada in Portugal. Tubarao, a member of the Wolfguard group, will have a unique gadget called the Zoto Canister, which can release freezing gas, deactivate gadgets, expose footprints, and slow down attacks. This will make Tubarao an excellent operator to pair with other defenders in the game.
In addition to the new operator, Operation Deep Freeze will also bring a new map called “Lair” to Rainbow Six Siege. This map is a secret headquarters located in the middle of a giant cave, with a total of four bomb sites and numerous entry points for attackers.
Furthermore, the upcoming season will see the introduction of a new Defender AI playlist, replacing the previous Terrorist Hunt mode. This playlist will allow players to go solo or team up with four other teammates against a stack of five AI bots in scenarios that mimic casual matches.
Frag grenades have also been reworked in the new season, with the removal of the ability to cook the grenades. This change aims to balance the power of frag grenades and make them function in a similar way as stun grenades.
Additionally, the Marketplace beta will be launched in Year 8 Season 4, allowing players to trade items with the community using in-game Credits. This new concept will include different cosmetics, headgear, and more, with a full release planned for Year 9.
With all these new additions and changes, Operation Deep Freeze is set to bring a fresh and exciting experience to Rainbow Six Siege. Players can look forward to exploring the new content and adapting to the gameplay adjustments when the new season launches on November 28, 2023.
