After a nine-year drought, Colombian golfer Camilo Villegas once again celebrated winning a PGA Tour title. On this occasion, Villegas did so after the final day of the Bermuda Championship that took place on the afternoon of this Sunday, November 12.

And after his well-deserved celebration on the 18th hole, the organizers of this sporting event interviewed Villegas, who spoke about this new sporting milestone in his career as a professional golfer.

“At this moment it is difficult for me to find words to describe what I feel, but it has been an extraordinary journey. I love this sport, it has given me many happy moments, but I have also experienced other complicated moments,” the 41-year-old golfer stated at the outset.

In addition, he also starred in a very emotional moment, when he remembered his daughter Mía, who died a couple of years ago after fighting an aggressive type of cancer.

“I’m sure she is very happy and is watching me from heaven,” he added.

Finally, he also thanked his work team and all his followers.

“Behind this achievement, there is a very large work team. Also, I have the support of my wife and my son Mateo, who will surely be jumping with excitement at this moment (…) I have had the company of many people, such as my instructor José Campra and Eugenio, who has helped me with mental preparation. I have never felt so comfortable on the golf course. In the end, I want to thank all the people who have been present to me and I want to let you know that I always give my best,” he concluded.

After winning his fifth PGA Tour title, Colombian golfer Camilo Villegas spoke of the hard road he experienced to win a tournament again. And he even shared a conversation he had with his instructor José Campra.

“When we started working together, he told me that I had a chance to win a PGA Tour tournament again. To be honest, I really believed that, but today (Sunday) I’m here. It was a hard day, but I stayed calm and The ‘birdie’ on the 17th hole helped. I felt the support of all the spectators and I thank them for that,” he commented.
