Olocuilta is a municipality that stands out for its gastronomic tourism, the famous pupusas are made here; That is why every year they hold a festival that takes place on the second Sunday of November, where they make the largest pupusa in the world.

The Municipal Works Directorate also celebrates this weekend, in this municipality of La Paz, the beginning of the National Patching Plan to recover urban streets and promote tourism, the economy and pedestrian safety as well as vehicular circulation.

The DOM field personnel began the demolition of the deteriorated asphalt and later a cement soil base will be built that will allow the road to last longer. In addition, curbs and speed bumps will be built, wells will be leveled, signage and a 10 meter long masonry wall will be done.

These works will be carried out on the main street that connects the Catholic church and the municipal market, the El Triángulo pupusódromo and Alberto Masferrer street, which leads to the Alberto Masferrer Educational Complex, also in the Colonia Montelimar of this municipality.

These works will allow better access to pupusa sales, because Olocuilta is precisely located on the road that leads to the International Airport, so many tourists or compatriots when they come to the country pass by this place to taste this national dish.

With this work, the DOM is in 16 of the 22 municipalities of La Paz, among others through the National Patching Plan that the inhabitants of Zacatecoluca already enjoy with the renovation of more than 200 blocks.

Work recently began in Santa María Ostuma and yesterday in Mercedes La Ceiba. Other works are advancing in El Rosario, San Antonio Masahuat, Tapalhuaca, San Luis Talpa, Santiago Nonualco and San Luis La Herradura, among others.

Dirt streets are also being recovered to modern and paved roads in El Rosario and San Miguel Tepezontes where a street that leads to Poza Verde beach, on Lake Ilopango, is being renovated.

With infrastructure projects, a clinic is being built in San Emigdio, a field in the municipality of Cuyultitán and a well is being drilled in the Bella Vista II Lot, in Zacatecoluca.

This year, the DOM delivered 2 public lighting projects in the municipalities of Jerusalem where 129 LED lights were installed, while another 801 were installed in San Rafael Obrajuelo to benefit more than 3 thousand families.

These projects are an example of the firm commitment that President Nayib Bukele has to continue working for Salvadorans and building, through the DOM, a New El Salvador.
