Kaya, Nov. 13, 2023, (AIB)-The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) offered, on November 11, 2023, health infrastructure and equipment worth 752 million FCFA to the health center of social promotion (CSPS) of sector 6 of Kaya.

The health buildings of the Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS) in sector 6 of Kaya have been rehabilitated with extensions thanks to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Likewise, the ICRC built a shed on the washing area, a simplified drinking water supply (AEPS) and acquired equipment such as three tricycles including two ambulances and a van.

According to the head of the ICRC delegation, Laurent Saugy, the overall cost of this allocation amounts to 752 million CFA francs.

The tricycle ambulances provided by the ICRC to the CSPS in sector 6 of Kaya will make it possible to evacuate patients from the villages to the Center and the CHR.

According to him, since 2020, his institution has provided regular support to the CSPS audit with medical equipment, medicines and medical consumables, thus providing relief to many patients in precarious situations.

“It is a holistic support which includes the capacity building of health workers adapted to the reality of changes encountered on the ground, the supply of medicines, the deployment of human resources, the management of health structures and community participation,” listed Laurent Saugy.

Listening to him, this support for the CSPS in sector 6 of Kaya is in line with the principle of humanity of his institution and aims to alleviate the suffering of communities affected by insecurity through strengthening resilience and support. health system efforts.

The head of the ICRC delegation, Laurent Saugy, said he was satisfied with the effects induced by his institution’s investment.

President of the ceremony, the Minister in charge of Health, Lucien Robert Kargougou indicated that this gesture will contribute to the implementation of the National Health Development Plan and the Action Plan for Stabilization and Development.

As a result, he expressed his gratitude to the ICRC before inviting the beneficiaries to make good use of it.

According to statistics, the CSPS in sector 6 of Kaya welcomes more internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Thus, the president of the Management Committee (Coges), Rasmané Sawadogo declared that the said Center went from 25,000 consultations in 2018 to more than 136,000 in 2022 and from 600 births assisted to more than 3,100 during the same period.

However, Rasmané Sawadogo urged the government to establish the CSPS as a medical center with a surgical branch (CMA).
