Japanese corporation Sony has patented a new technology that could allow gamers to replay difficult parts of games from any point. This was reported by Insider Gaming. The technology is called “Streaming content with gameplay launch,” Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.

Usually in video games there are gaps of gameplay separated by autosave points. Passing between them can take tens of minutes, which sometimes creates additional difficulties for gamers.

“Streaming content with gameplay launch” involves dividing such gameplay intervals into shorter fragments, sub-intervals. If desired, the gamer can select the most suitable sub-interval and load it immediately, without wasting time going back to it from the save point.

Insider Gaming writes that if this feature is implemented, most of all it will make the work of content makers easier. The point is that “Streaming Content with Gameplay Launch” will allow them to launch games from specific moments to record footage. Usually, recording the necessary scenes requires video bloggers to replay large sections of games.
