Pastor and businessman Silas Malafaia recorded a video to expose the names of the evangelical senators who voted in favor of the Tax Reform proposed by the Lula government.

The media received 53 votes in favor, against 24 against. With approval in the Senate, the proposal returns to the Chamber of Deputies, where it must also be analyzed. Oppositionists, however, have already been warning against the measure.

Influential in the evangelical segment, Malafaia used social media to criticize evangelicals who support the Reform, such as Eliziane Gama and Carlos Viana. In addition to a video criticizing the parliamentarians, the leader of the Vitória em Cristo Assembly of God Church also posted the photo and name of the senators.

“Every evangelical needs to know this”, captioned the pastor, who also praised, on the other hand, the senators who voted against the Tax Reform, such as Senator Magno Malta.

Greater control

In a criticism published on social media, Magno Malta said that the Tax Reform proposed by the Lula administration will allow the concentration of power in the hands of the government, what he called “communist central power”.

“Looking at the history of some South American countries, we see the clear dangers of centralization of power. Venezuela is a grim example: excessive control over the economy and resources, leading to hyperinflation, shortages and a humanitarian crisis,” the senator wrote.

“In Brazil, the PT tries in every way to centralize everything it can, and we already know where this will lead. What we are seeing before our eyes is not a change of government, but a change of regime”, completed Magno Malta.

“The people pay the bill in the end”, highlighted Malafaia. “That’s the truth. There will be an increase in the tax burden.” According to the pastor, with the supposed increase in taxes, Brazil will have difficulty attracting investors. Watch:
