The Israeli army is advancing into Gazan territory and this Tuesday it took an important step by taking several buildings of Hamas institutions in the Strip, including the headquarters of Parliament and the Government. The operations have been carried out in the neighborhoods of Rimal and Seij Ijlin, in the north of the enclave, where pauses have been declared in the last hours to facilitate population evacuations.

Troops from the 7th Armored Brigade and the Golani Infantry Brigade intervened in the operation, taking control of military and government buildings and offices after carrying out a series of raids in the area. They have also entered the University of Gaza, where they have taken over a building of the Faculty of Engineering which, they claim, “has served as an institute for the production and development of weapons.”

Among the main points that have fallen into the hands of Benjamin Netanyahu’s army are the Hamas government headquarters, the Parliament, the Police headquarters and a complex with a military base, a central command, interrogation rooms and cells. The military has also taken the home of the governor of Gaza, which houses offices of the military and police branch, and other areas “used to prepare the massacre of October 7.”

Israel defends that Hamas has infrastructure in “apparently innocent” residences, schools and institutions.

Israeli troops have been around the Al Shifa hospital, the Gaza reference center, for days, considering that this is precisely where the “heart” of Hamas is located. In fact, the Hebrew authorities defend that Hamas has infrastructure in “apparently innocent” residences, schools and institutions. Under a mosque, for example, the Neveg Brigade has found a tunnel.
