The Israeli army is advancing into Gazan territory and this Tuesday it took an important step by taking several buildings of Hamas institutions in the Strip, including the headquarters of Parliament and the Government. The operations have been carried out in the neighborhoods of Rimal and Seij Ijlin, in the north of the enclave, where pauses have been declared in the last hours to facilitate population evacuations.
Troops from the 7th Armored Brigade and the Golani Infantry Brigade intervened in the operation, taking control of military and government buildings and offices after carrying out a series of raids in the area. They have also entered the University of Gaza, where they have taken over a building of the Faculty of Engineering which, they claim, “has served as an institute for the production and development of weapons.”
