Man Injured in Shooting at Home in Upplands Väsby

A man in his 30s was recently taken to the hospital after being shot at in his home in Brunnby in Upplands Väsby. The incident occurred in a terraced house, with other people present at the time. Thankfully, no one else in the townhouse was injured, and the man’s injuries are not life-threatening.

Following the shooting, the police have initiated a comprehensive operation. According to police spokesperson Ola Österlind, the operation includes using dogs to search the area and conducting interviews with individuals who heard the shots.

Police currently suspect that the shooting is linked to gang crime. Ola Österlind stated, “We are working on mapping him, and we assume that in one way or another, it has a connection to criminal networks.”

When asked why they believe this to be the case, Ola Österlind declined to provide details, citing the issue as being covered by pre-trial confidentiality.

An investigation into attempted murder has since been launched. The police are continuing their efforts to understand the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The community is also being urged to come forward with any information that may aid in the investigation.
