Football is a surprising place. Or, at least, capable of offering the simplest answers to apparently more complex questions. This is a good example. Which coach, worldwide, has the most victories in the 2023 calendar year in national competition games?
We put our algorithm into action, without any prior knowledge or suspicion, waiting for an exotic name, perhaps someone working in the Micronesian or Greenlandic league. But not. In a few seconds, the answer: Sérgio Conceição, coach of FC Porto.
In the period starting in January 2023, no one won more games in national competitions than the blue and whites. The study was carried out by zerozero on the first day of the break for national team games. Duly confirmed, with a look at the four corners of the planet, here are the conclusions.

In 40 official matches, FC Porto won 33between national championship games (the second half of 22/23 and the first of 23/24), Portuguese Cup and League Cup.
On the entire planet, no team or coach was able, until this day in November, to equal this record.
None? There is actually one exception.
John Caulfieldcoach of tiny Galway United, a second-tier team in the Republic of Ireland, was able to equal the record of Conceição and FC Porto, although the level of difficulty of the challenges was naturally lower.
In 2023, no one on the football planet was able to win more games than the blue and whites in the national competitions of their respective countries.
Even if this did not mean, as we know, winning the Portuguese league.
