At the club since 2007, Richard Arnold will leave the Mancunian club.

Manchester United general manager Richard Arnold is leaving his post, the English club announced on Wednesday, as the arrival of billionaire Jim Ratcliffe in the capital of the Red Devils becomes clearer.

Richard Arnold arrived in Manchester in 2007 and replaced Ed Woodward as general manager in February 2022. This departure of the 52-year-old manager comes as the founder of Ineos, Jim Ratcliffe, is in the process of becoming a minority shareholder of the club , for an amount of 1.5 billion pounds (1.7 billion euros). The BBC has claimed that the sale of 25% of the shares belonging to the Glazer family should take place during the current international break, probably this week.

Pending the arrival of the 71-year-old billionaire, and until the end of December, “Patrick Stewart will be interim CEO, in addition to his advisory functions,” the club said in a statement, adding that a “recruitment process will be put in place to find a new CEO”.
