With the aim of facilitating the return of Salvadorans to the country, the deputies of Nuevas Ideas presented a piece of correspondence seeking to approve Transitional Provisions for the Exemption from the Payment of Duties and Taxes for the Introduction of New Goods for Travelers from Abroad .
The initiative indicated that those who visit during Christmas and New Year will be exempt from paying taxes for the introduction of new goods, whose total amount is equal to or less than $3,000.
“This is a temporary measure that seeks to continue dignifying our brothers in the diaspora. We hope that during this Christmas season many compatriots can come to celebrate with their families,” said legislator Walter Alemán.
The proposal will be known by the parliamentarians in plenary session No. 132, which will take place this November 14, and will be sent to the corresponding commission for its respective study.
