Bankinter Asset Management has launched its new Bankinter Premium Fixed Income fund, focused primarily on monetary assets, Treasury bills, and good quality corporate debt.

Bankinter explains, through a statement, that this fund focuses on fixed income investments “at a time when it is more attractive due to its potential profitability.”

With the new product, the Bankinter manager completes the range of Premium funds, a type of profiled funds, which, like the Platea range, offer funds adapted to each investor profile: defensive, conservative, moderate, dynamic, and aggressive.

In this case, the bank explains that the Premium Fixed Income fund is designed for different customer profiles: “from the saver who is thinking about making the jump to investment funds to those who have a preference for monetary assets, through to the “investor who is not convinced to invest in variable income.” Thus, it is a fund that is halfway between a monetary fund and a short-term fixed income fund.

Regarding its approximate initial composition, the fund invests 50% of its assets in monetary assets and the rest in a portfolio of sovereign debt (15%), corporate debt with a good credit rating (30%), promissory notes (3%). and high yield debt (2%).

Bankinter highlights that it is an actively managed product, which will modify its investment policy depending on the circumstances and according to its prospectus. In no case is it a guaranteed fund, profitability objective or ‘buy&hold’ category.

With the current portfolio composition and if the participant entered today, the fund could have a 12-month gross IRR of 4.3%.

Bankinter warns that this fund is a “longer-term” investment, and that it is a product “not immune to risk”, so the investor “must understand the type of product to which they are allocating the invested capital.” In this sense, currency risk can reach 30% of the total exposure.
