Recruitment of a driver for the Conakry office

Duration of commitment : One-year probationary period, then three-year contract.

Probable start date of the contract : January 1, 2024

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) advises its member states, including Guinea, and supports the efforts of country authorities to implement policies aimed at strengthening their economic stability, reducing vulnerability to economic and financial crises, and improving living standards of their population.

In this context, the IMF seeks to hire for the office of its Resident Representation in Conakry, a driver who will be responsible for all the tasks relating to his position and responsibilities described below which include simple routine tasks carried out according to procedures prescribed. Specific guidelines are provided for most tasks.

Job description : Under the authority and supervision of the Resident Representative in Conakry, he/she will mainly assume the following functions and responsibilities:

Drive office vehicles as requested between the Resident Representative’s office and other loading or unloading points, with due regard to traffic schedules, traffic rules and best routes; Become familiar with local safety regulations of the UN and check the vehicle daily to ensure compliance with these regulations. Makes regular deliveries of packages, documents, etc., between the resident representative office and other institutions. Make purchases and collect purchases on request urgent needs from local suppliers. Collects goods from customs in compliance with customs regulations and formalities. Arranges for maintenance of assigned vehicle(s), as well as minor repairs. Also arranges other repairs and ensures that the vehicle remains clean at all times.

Job Requirements : The candidate should preferably have a high school diploma. Perfect command of French, a driving license, and excellent knowledge of driving rules and regulations are required. English would be an asset. Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with State Visitors at all levels. The candidate must also possess good personal qualities, have a cooperative and flexible attitude and be a good team player, demonstrating good judgment in the execution of daily tasks. The candidate must be willing to perform duties on holidays, weekends or after hours as assigned.
