The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Benin and German cooperation proceeded in the afternoon of this Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at the CCI-Benin, to the signing of a memorandum of understanding for the delivery of materials in as part of the establishment of the International Institute for Strengthening Entrepreneurial Support.

The International Institute for Strengthening Entrepreneurial Support will soon be created on the premises of the Chamber. This center is the result of cooperation between GIZ and CCI-Benin within the framework of the North/South partnership. The institute’s mission will be to prepare future entrepreneurs in Benin for job creation. To achieve this objective, German Cooperation through the “ProCIVA” project saw fit to support the CCI-Benin with educational materials to equip the International Institute for strengthening entrepreneurial support. The batch of equipment received by the Secretary General of the Chamber consists of office supplies. These include, among other things, several office accessories such as a plasma screen television set, armchairs, video projectors, sound equipment, suitcases, tables, microphones, speakers, internet connection equipment. , etc.
Samson Kougbadi, the SME Support/ProCIVA component manager, expressed his joy about the benefits of the partnership between the two structures. The signed partnership agreement allows the Chamber to take possession of “information moderation materials, office equipment and reception equipment,” Kougbadi indicated. ProCIVA project manager Stéfanie Zirping noted that this handover is only a first step. For her, there will soon be the delivery of other equipment to the CCI-Benin so that it can fully play its role as an incubator of entrepreneurial creation and innovation. She wanted the institute to be a center of excellence for promoting businesses and jobs. In turn, the Secretary General of the Chamber, Raymond Adjakpa Abile, recalled that thanks to German Cooperation, entrepreneurs were able to benefit from support for the marketing of their products. Furthermore, GIZ also helped entrepreneurs raise funds to launch their activities. He therefore thanked the partner for the support in educational materials. “This gesture is an invitation to stay the course and grow the institute,” indicated the Sg of the CCI Benin.
Note that the “Green Innovation Centers for the Agro-Food Sector” Project in Benin has the general objective of improving the income of small farmers, employment and the regional supply of food products through the implementation of innovations in the agricultural and agri-food sector in selected rural communes of Benin. The project intervenes in three value added chains (CVA) upstream and downstream of production: rice, soya and poultry.
