Bancor announced the winners of the 16th edition of its Painting Prize, selected by a federal jury of renowned art figures. The winners will receive a total of 5 million pesos in prizes and their works will be exhibited from December 7 at the Tamburini Museum (San Jerónimo 166). The work chosen to be executed in mural format, meanwhile, will be carried out on 1040 Duarte Quirós Street, in the center of the city.

In the year of its 150th anniversary, Bancor once again invited visual artists from all over the country, both individuals and groups, to participate in its classic award in the categories “Painting” and “Muralism” under the general coordination of the artist from Córdoba. Manuel Coll. On the occasion, three Acquisition Awards and three Bancor Joven Acquisition Art Mentions were awarded for “Painting”, one Muralism Award and two mentions per category, without financial remuneration.

After a meticulous selection work, the jury made up of Bárbara Golubicki (Buenos Aires), Elisa Strada (Buenos Aires), Horacio Occhi (Neuquén), Luz Novillo Corvalán (Córdoba) and Dante Montich (Córdoba), defined the winners from from Córdoba, Buenos Aires, San Miguel de Tucumán and La Plata.

1st Acquisition Prize of $1,200,000 to Gilda Picabea with the work Gran Cobre. 2nd Acquisition Prize of $800,000 to Teresa Giarcovich with the work 3.3rd Acquisition Prize of $600,000 to Lucas Jalowski with the work Ascensión (… “while they were looking…”).Lucas Jalowski with the work Ascensión (… “while they were looking…”), finishing third place in the 2023 Bancor Painting Prize.

The exhibition of the 16th Painting Prize will be exhibited starting December 7, 2023 at the Tamburini Museum (San Jerónimo 166), from Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with free admission.
