Raid events over the weekend are planned in the territories of Baranovichi, Gantsevichi, Drogichinsky, Zhabinkovsky, Pinsk and Stolinsky districts.

Law enforcement officers will provide enhanced supervision over road traffic, namely, the following drills will be organized:

the most accident-prone sections of highways and streets of populated areas,
unregulated pedestrian crossings, where there is an increased risk of accidents involving vulnerable road users.

Under special control are drunk drivers, as well as persons who do not have the right to drive vehicles. Facts of violations of the rules of overtaking, maneuvering, non-compliance with speed limits, violations of traffic rules by pedestrians and cyclists will also be suppressed.

State traffic inspectors note that in the autumn-winter period the number of accidents involving vulnerable road users increases. We’re talking about pedestrians. But the culprits are not always those who are driving.

So, on November 15 at about 6 p.m., a 26-year-old resident of the Luninets district, driving an Opel car, was moving along Zheleznodorozhnaya Street in Mikashevichi. Opposite house 40 “A” he hit a 66-year-old pedestrian who, according to preliminary information, was crossing the roadway outside the pedestrian crossing and was not marked with reflective elements.

As a result of the accident, the pedestrian was hospitalized. An inspection is underway.

On the same day, at about 11 p.m., a 32-year-old Brest resident, driving a Renault car, was moving along 28 July Street. Opposite house No. 35, she hit a 36-year-old pedestrian who, according to preliminary information, was intoxicated (2.1 ppm) and was crossing the roadway outside a pedestrian crossing without reflective elements.

The pedestrian was released after receiving medical assistance.
