A weekend dedicated to board, card and role-playing games, including puzzles and brain teasers. From the great classics loved by the whole family like Monopoly and RisiKo! to the most recent board games, suitable for Millennials and Gen Z such as The Rats of Wistar or HeroQuest. The countdown for the first edition of ‘EntrainGioco’ comes to life, the appointment is at Superstudio Maxi in Milan (Via Moncucco, 35) and is open to everyone, not just enthusiasts. Organized by the International Toy Fair in collaboration with Assogiocattoli, ‘EntrainGioco’ will be a celebration of board games in all possible and imaginable forms, with as many as 30 Italian and international publishers, and in the company of the true protagonists of the board game.

The list of guests is large but the most awaited guest is Ernő Rubik, the inventor of the most famous cube in the world, who will meet his fans both on Saturday in a Q&A session where he will reveal the secrets behind his creation and a “cube sign” session, both on Sunday to reward the winners of the Awards promoted by the Polytechnic of Milan. Game Night is also scheduled for Saturday 18 November, a game night to play continuously until 11pm with as many games as possible. The man to defeat will be him: Nicolò Falcone, reigning Monopoly world champion.

Another special guest of the non-stop gaming evening was the well-known radio speaker Francesco Lancia. As a great fan of board, card and role-playing games, he will present, in collaboration with Asmodee Italia, ‘On Air – Play Like a Deejay’, the party game dedicated to the Via Massena radio. On Sunday 19th, however, it will be the turn of Marco Confortola, known in world mountaineering for his exploits on 13 eight thousand meter peaks climbed without oxygen. He will be the one to present ‘The park game’, a challenge suitable for everyone among peaks, glaciers and enchanted valleys, signed by Ludic and Confortola with the patronage of the Stelvio National Park.

The Superstudio Maxi in Milan will be transformed into a large games room animated by three Squares – Rock, Paper and Scissors – managed by a team of experts, gaming professionals and true fans of board games. First of all, Andrea Ligabue, professional ludologist. Piazza Forbice will be dedicated to the little ones, because it is full of Family Games designed to be played together like Gnam Gnam Monster Chef or Kaleidos. The Piazza Carta, however, will be the safe haven for casual gamers and for those who have never played a board game. Finally, the most exciting challenges will be staged in Piazza Sasso: it is here that real gamers, even the most specialized, will find what they want with Empire’s End (absolute preview) or Annunaki: Dawn of the Gods .

During the two days of ‘EntrainGioco’ there will also be space for creativity. Thanks to the collaboration with Poli.Design – Design for Kids&Toys, talks, exhibitions and two special areas are scheduled with a selected group of 46 illustrators and designers who will exhibit their most recent creations, truly innovative prototypes that will stimulate the curiosity of players and from the same publishers present.

But not only that: in collaboration with “Fondazione Per Leggere”, on the morning of Saturday 18 November, BibliotecheinGioco will be held, the first conference dedicated to libraries and aimed at librarians and cultural operators on the theme of gaming. With the motto “I learn by playing!”, Beba Restelli, trainer on the Bruno Munari Method, will analyze the educational, aggregative and social value that gaming has within libraries and the communities themselves. All in perfect line with Gioco per Semper, the campaign promoted by Assogiocattoli aimed at supporting and spreading the culture of gaming to celebrate its universality.
