English weeks on Netflix: First Beckham, then Robbie Williams, now it’s the royals’ turn again. The first four episodes of the final season of “The Crown” have started. The spontaneous impression: It’s good that it’s almost over.
“Marriage is a serious and painful thing,” says Lady Di (Elizabeth Debicki) with a meaningful expression, trying to comfort Dodi Fayed (Khalid Abdalla). He just wanted to give her a huge gift and propose a wedding, but Diana is hardly interested in the next marriage, whether serious or painful. Or expediently, as in the case of Dodi, who also and primarily wants to get married in order to score points with his old man.
