In Singapore, Hyundai unveils the car factory of the future

REPORTAGE – Le Figaro was able to visit this gigantic building that looks like an urban aircraft carrier. The robots assemble the vehicles there in laboratory silence, waiting for flying taxis one day.

The skyscrapers of Singapore sway through the windshield, when the Ioniq 5 approaches the elevated bend of the track at 80 km/h, resisting centrifugal force, overlooking the city. Babylon had its hanging gardens, the city-state had a running track placed on a roof, 28 meters high. This 620-meter ring of asphalt crowns the seventh floor of the first automobile factory inaugurated in the Southeast Asian hub for forty years, and unveiled by Hyundai Motors on November 21.
