India will face Pakistan in their first match of the T20 World Cup on October 23. The clash between the two teams is set to take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
India lost to Pakistan in last year’s World Cup. This is the first time India have lost to an ICC team.
Meanwhile, the 8th ICC T20 World Cup will be held in Australia. The ICC on Friday released the schedule for the tournament, which starts on October 16 and ends on November 13.
Accordingly, India, placed in Group ‘2’, will face Pakistan in their first match of the ‘Soup 12’ round. Next, in the first round, they play against the team that runs out in Group ‘A’.
India, who face South Africa in Game 3 and Bangladesh in Game 4, face Group ‘B”s Win in the first round of the last match of the Super 12 round.

First Round: The first round of the World Cup, the final round of the 4 teams in the ‘Soup 12’ round, begins on October 16. Sri Lanka – Namibia teams clash in the opening match. The teams that see the field in this round are divided into Group ‘A’ and ‘B’. The 4 teams that come through the qualifying round will join in these divisions.

‘Soup 12’: The 2nd round ‘Soup 12’ starts on October 22 with the defending champions Australia – New Zealand taking the field. The teams are classified as Group ‘1’ and ‘2’. With 8 teams already in place, the top two teams in the two divisions of the first round will fill the remaining seats.

Knock out: The next semi-finals will be played at the Sydney and Adelaide Oval on November 9 and 10, respectively. This is the first time the World Cup semi-final will be played at the Adelaide Oval. The top two teams in both groups of the ‘Soup 12’ round will advance to this knockout round.
Final: The final between the two teams will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on November 13 to win the Champions Trophy.
