“Stage doctors”: The Liberté Santé Union files a complaint against Gilbert Deray

After André Grimaldi and Karine Lacombe, it is Gilbert Deray’s turn to be targeted by the Liberté Santé Union (SLS), launched in a series of legal complaints against “set doctors”. Prophet of compulsory vaccination and the health pass, he is therefore the third of the “nine barkers”.

In 2021, the head of the nephrology department at La Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital came out of the shadows to take his place on television sets. And he said a lot of things.

From July 2021, when France was already facing the fourth wave of Covid-19, he did not hesitate to compare anti-vaccines with “criminals”. Already, he spoke of a “safe and incredibly effective vaccine”. During the same month, he published a forum in the JDD, in which he wrote: “These anti-vaccines imagine themselves as De Gaulle, Jean Moulin or Nelson Mandela, they are only sad clowns, war profiteers.” And added: “Sad but dangerous, because they undermine trust and create suspicion and disorder.” To conclude: “And what warms my heart and soul are these tens of millions of French people who, because they have confidence in medicine and a sense of the nation’s interest, are already vaccinated.” For him, that was the call to resistance.

At the beginning of 2022, this time taking the position of caregiver, he tried to nuances : “In fact, it’s not anger that we have first, it’s sorrow.”

Not everyone has forgotten it. So today, the SLS is filing a complaint with the Order of Physicians for the following reasons:

Abuse of public credulity and practice of charlatanism; Aggravated lack of measure and prudence and non-compliance with the obligation to provide fair and honest medical information in its public expression; Failure to update knowledge before public expression; Failure to declare links of interest in the context of public expression; Discrimination and lack of brotherhood undermining the honor and probity of the profession.

According to their press releaseGilbert Deray’s comments “participated in the creation and maintenance of a climate of fear among the French, and thus vitiated their free and informed consent”.

Finally, the SLS explains that “this ordinal procedure aims to defend the honor of the profession and to prevent Professor Deray from harming the health of millions of French people, by reminding her of the Oath she took.”
