Armenia refuses the support of the Collective Security Treaty Organization

Despite Armenia’s refusal to participate in the Summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) to be held in Minsk on November 23, this military bloc led by Russia “continues work on the issue of sending an observation mission to Armenia.”

This statement was made by the secretariat of the CSMT on November 21.

The day before that, the general secretary of the organization Imangali Tashmagambetov Authoritarian leader of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said in his meeting with that Yerevan asked CSTO to remove the organization’s military aid to Armenia from the agenda of the summit.

The Kazakh general secretary of CSTO said:

“Of the 34 decisions made at the meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization held in Yerevan last November, only two have not been implemented so far. One of them was the editing of the decision of the CSTO council on aid to Armenia. Despite the support of this decision by all allies, Armenia has not shown any interest in this document. Moreover, at the final stage of the work on the document, the Armenian side requested that it be removed from the agenda in general.”
