Legendary singer Dolly Parton wowed fans during the Thanksgiving Day game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Commanders, as she performed during the halftime show. The 77-year-old country music icon performed some of her greatest hits, including ‘Jolene’ and ‘9 to 5,’ while donning a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader outfit.
Social media was set ablaze by Parton’s performance, with fans and former Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo expressing their amazement and admiration for the singer. Romo, who was part of the CBS broadcast of the game, commented, “She looks amazing, right? She’s wonderful. Who doesn’t like Dolly Parton?”
The halftime show was part of the Salvation Army’s 27th annual Red Kettle Kickoff, and Parton’s stunning performance left a lasting impression on viewers and attendees of the game. The Cowboys themselves also put on a stunning performance on the field, as they dominated the Washington Commanders with a 45-10 victory.
The game also saw NFL history being made when Cowboys defensive back DaRon Bland intercepted Commanders quarterback Sam Howell, setting the NFL single-season record with his fifth ‘pick-six’ of the year. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott shone as well, throwing 22-of-32 for 331 yards and four touchdowns in the team’s dominant win.
Elsewhere in the NFL, the Green Bay Packers secured a 29-22 victory over the Detroit Lions, while the San Francisco 49ers beat the Seattle Seahawks 31-13 in other Thanksgiving Day matchups.
