NEW YORK (Reuters) – New York cocoa futures closed higher on Friday in a quiet session, supported by continued concerns about harvests in West Africa.
COCOA
* The March New York cocoa contract rose 0.1% to $4,089 per tonne as the market consolidated just below the 45-year high of $4,148 set earlier this week.
* Operators said adverse weather in West Africa has reduced production and is expected to lead to a third consecutive global deficit in the current 2023/24 season (October/September).
*London March cocoa contract fell 0.1% to £3,459 per tonne.
