11 Foreign Workers Released from Hamas Captivity

In a heartwarming development, 11 foreign workers with Thai and Filipino citizenship were released today from Hamas captivity after 49 days. The returnees, consisting of ten men and one woman, landed at the Shamir Assaf Harofeh hospital in Beer Ya’akov, and their health condition is reported to be good. While their names have not yet been released, the CEO of Assaf Harofeh Hospital, Dr. Osnat Levtzion Korah, stated that they appear to be in good condition and are receiving both physical and mental care.

The Thai government issued a statement expressing gratitude to Qatar, Israel, Egypt, Iran, Malaysia, and the Red Cross for their efforts in securing the release of the country’s citizens. The release of the workers was not part of the deal between Israel and Hamas, but rather was achieved through separate negotiations that were conducted concurrently. The statement also mentioned that efforts will be made to return the workers to their respective countries soon, following a 48-hour hospitalization in the observation hospital.

Dr. Korah further emphasized the hospital’s commitment to making the return of the workers as easy as possible, acknowledging their excitement, happiness, and gratitude upon their release. “These are people who came to work and help, and they are part of the fabric of our company,” she stated.

This development marks a positive outcome for the foreign workers and highlights the importance of international cooperation and negotiation in securing their release. The return of the workers to their home countries is eagerly anticipated, and their safe release is a cause for celebration.
