Watan Al-Youm: The occupation war minister, Yoav Galant, said: The violent fighting in the Gaza Strip is expected to continue for another two months.
The Hebrew Broadcasting Corporation quoted Gallant as saying during his visit to the “Atlit” naval base, yesterday, Thursday: “The truce period will be a short respite, and at the end of it, intense fighting will continue, as there will be many operations in which the navy will have something to do, until we end the military threat from Gaza.”
Gallant added: “We will eliminate Hamas as a military and governmental framework, and we need to eliminate the chain of command, whether those at the top, or the people on the ground, the representatives, the generals, and the activists in the field.”
He pointed out the necessity of exerting military pressure on the Gaza Strip, indicating that the occupation forces must organize, prepare and prepare for the next stage.
The temporary truce in the Gaza Strip, which will last for four days, began at 7 am in occupied Jerusalem (8 am in occupied Jerusalem) after a 49-day aggression.
Before the truce took effect, the Israeli occupation launched intense raids and committed brutal massacres, especially in the Nuseirat camp and the Indonesian hospital, which it stormed just an hour before the truce, and executed a woman inside.
According to Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari, the truce and ceasefire will be followed by the handover of the first batch of civilian detainees, at approximately 4 p.m. today, Friday.
He pointed out that the first batch of detainees to be released includes 13 women and children, out of 50, divided over 4 days.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed that during the four days of the truce, information will be collected about the remaining detainees, expressing his hope that this humanitarian truce will lead to the start of greater work to achieve a permanent truce and lasting peace.
For its part, the Al-Qassam Brigades issued an explanatory statement, in which it said: “The truce will last for 4 days, starting on Friday morning, accompanied by the cessation of all military actions by the Qassam Brigades and the Palestinian resistance, as well as the Zionist enemy, throughout the truce period.”
She pointed out that “enemy aircraft have completely stopped flying in the southern Gaza Strip,” and “enemy aircraft have stopped flying for 6 hours a day, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. in Gaza City and the north.”
The statement confirmed that 3 Palestinian prisoners, women and children, will be released for every one Israeli prisoner, amounting to 50 Israeli prisoners, women and children under the age of 19.
