This Saturday (25), the São Paulo U20 team lost 1-0 (3-1 on aggregate) to Palmeiras, in the final of the Campeonato Paulista category. The result resulted in runner-up for Tricolor.
The match started off busy, with both teams making clear their intention to score an early goal. However, it was the opposing team who opened the scoring at the 18-minute mark.
São Paulo then balanced the game and grew even more at the end of the first half, with plays that caused danger for the rival defense. Talles Wander appeared well in attack, while Leandro stood out in goal with great saves. In any case, the ball didn’t go in until the whistle went and the teams went into halftime with the score at 1-0.
For the second half, Tricolor came out with intensity. After just 10 minutes, Maioli fired a shot from outside the area, which exploded onto the crossbar. São Paulo continued to press for most of the time, with Maioli being dangerous again in the 34th minute with a free kick. The São Paulo team continues to attack, trying to reverse the situation, but was unsuccessful.
