The senior police official noted that, according to the Department of International Captures, it was identified that the notification corresponding to Gianina García Troche was not active. A consultation was carried out with the Paraguayan authorities, who, when responding, hinted that they were also unaware of the withdrawal of the red alert.
“It was emphatically Uruguay that became aware and alerted the Paraguayan Police and other authorities of this situation, which was corrected today,” he added.
Rodríguez reiterated that the red alert was activated again and highlighted that the Uruguayan authorities did not receive an international notification in this regard. It was the agents in charge of control who verified the withdrawal.
The director of Interpol Uruguay explained that, to cancel a red alert, the requesting country must apply to Interpol France, providing reasons to support said request.
