The daily newspapers La Libre and Sudinfo reveal this Wednesday the content of a document that has until now been confidential. This is an 11-page police report containing information from a State Security note.
What exactly does it contain? Excerpts from telephone and written exchanges between Marie Arena and Antonio Panzeri, the former MEP suspected of being at the origin of the corruption scandal in the European Parliament.
The exchanges concern several countries – including Qatar and Morocco – and seem to demonstrate that the PS MEP played a prominent role in this affair. She is cited as “part of the Cozzolino/Moretti/Arena/Tarabella quadriumvirate for problem solving in favor of Qatar”. According to the PV, Marie Arena appears to work closely with Panzeri, who gives her advice and instructions.
In May 2022, during a trip to Qatar, Panzeri allegedly received several gifts from Qatari authorities, including a Rolex and a necklace, which he allegedly gave to Marie Arena.
