Hamas announces that it has released a Russian hostage kidnapped during the attack that the terrorist group carried out on October 7 in Israel. In the press release published on Sunday, he claimed to be making this gesture “in response to the efforts” of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his “support for the Palestinian cause”.

Two groups of hostages, including foreigners, have already been released and a third group is expected this Sunday evening, according to a truce agreement concluded between the Islamist movement and Israel which entered into force on Friday. The Kremlin has regularly called for a ceasefire, repeating that lasting peace in the Middle East requires the creation of a Palestinian state.
