Local Pilot Exercise Program for Parkinson’s Disease Receives Rave Reviews

The recent pilot ‘exercise to music with Parkinson’s disease’ program, which concluded last week, has garnered praise from participants. The program, led by instructor Martine Dufloo, aimed to provide a fun and inclusive exercise experience for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease.

Participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to take part in the program, with many noting the positive impact it had on their overall well-being. Additionally, the partnership with Sport2000 Leusden, which provided the group room, and colleague Miriam Loef, who offered hospitality, was recognized and appreciated by all involved.

The success of the pilot program has prompted plans for another round of 5 lessons, set to commence on January 11, 2024. Dufloo has indicated that the upcoming sessions will focus on moving to music, as well as incorporating playful and appropriate strength training elements. Those interested in participating in the next round of classes are encouraged to reach out for more information via email at [email protected].

One participant, Jettie Van Koot, shared a heartfelt review of her experience, expressing initial doubts about the program’s benefits but ultimately finding it to be a worthwhile and enjoyable endeavor. “Just do it, take that first step,” she advised to others who may be hesitant.

The overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants demonstrates the potential for tailored exercise programs to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals living with Parkinson’s disease. As the pilot program concludes, the community eagerly anticipates the continuation of these valuable sessions in the new year.]
