Typing “endometriosis” into a search engine is enough to convince oneself that patients now represent a lucrative market…
“Endometriosis has come out of the shadows, but the media coverage is double-edged: we are no longer considered crazy, but, in return, we have attracted all the profiteers”summarizes Marie-Rose Galès, patient expert and author of the book Endometriosis, what other countries have to teach us (Editions Josette Lyon). There are of course a myriad of websites, which offer a thousand and one products supposed to reduce pain (patches, infusions, hot water bottles, etc.) with varying degrees of effectiveness. But above all “therapists”, including doctors, who are not always scrupulous, flourish.
