Barcelona The National Police has arrested a man for killing his ex-partner and the five-year-old daughter they shared with a knife. After stabbing the two victims, the man tried to commit suicide. The events took place this morning in the Carabanchel district of Madrid and are already being investigated as a case of male violence. According to the newspaper The worldthe man had a restraining order against the woman for an abuse complaint and they were about to sign a divorce.
According to the National Police, the agents arrived at the scene at around 02.30, when they found the 25-year-old woman badly injured in the garage, while the minor was at home. Emergency medical teams were unable to save either person. They did manage to save the arrested man, aged 24, who was found inside the home with a neck injury.
The alleged perpetrator of what would be the 53rd sexist murder in Spain has been admitted to the 12 de Octubre hospital in Madrid and arrested by the National Police.
