LA GACETA Challenge
Natural fibers, fabrics, denim, glitter, transparencies, garments inspired by the 2000s… each collection presented throughout the event had its own different touch. This shows that fashion is an open space for diversity (of colors, patterns, materials, processes, etc.), without there being a need to settle for the clothes we see in the window of a franchise or serial productions. In the end it is better to be authentic. To bring inspiration outside the atelier, LA GACETA – a collaborator in this fashion weekend – held a design competition. The challenge was to create a garment made entirely of newspaper and based on a news story whose reading had caused a great impact. The prototypes (around 20) were displayed on mannequins and distributed among the stairs and outdoor tables of the gastronomic space. The jury was made up of representatives from the San Pablo T University, Santista, Yubrin Telas, LA GACETA and the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI).
