Right back Orlane Ahanda and left back Djazz Chambertin are the two players not selected for the 2023 World Cup (November 29-December 17) by the coach of the French handball team Olivier Krumbholz, who reduced Monday to 18 elements his group.

Krumbholz will have to draw from this list, announced by the French Federation, 16 players for each match, the other two taking their places in the stands. The coach, deprived of the right-back position of Océane Sercien-Ugolin (injured) and who chose to do without Béatrice Edwige (35 years old), cornerstone of the defense in recent years, can also do during the competition five changes to replace a player in the group with another who is not there.

The Blues, reigning Olympic champions, will face Angola in the first round (Thursday), Iceland (Saturday) then Slovenia (December 4), in Stavanger (Norway). The first three in this group D are qualified for the second round, in Trondheim, still in Norway.
