A key week begins for the PP in which the changes in the leadership and parliamentary spokespersons will be made effective. Next Thursday Alberto Núñez Feijóo has convened the National Executive Committee that must validate them.

Before that moment arrives, the party will announce, little by little, some of those changes. According to PP sources, this afternoon we will find out who will occupy one of the key positions: the spokesperson for Congress. The names of Miguel Tellado, current deputy secretary of Territorial Organization of the party, are being considered; or Carmen Fúnez, current deputy secretary of Social Policies.

This change will occur after Feijóo has confirmed that, finally, Cuca Gamarra will only be the general secretary of the PP and that she will therefore leave her position as spokesperson for Congress.

The changes will be known little by little

Throughout this week, and before that National Executive Committee on Thursday, the party will outline the changes. It is expected that, at least, they will incorporate three new faces into the management team that will be “expanded, rejuvenated and with new ideas and approaches,” explained Alberto Núñez Feijóo.

They will fill the gaps left by Pedro Rollán, the current president of the Senate who will leave his vice-secretary of Autonomous and Local Coordination, and Carmen Navarro, current fourth secretary of the Board of the Congress of Deputies, will leave her position in the vice-secretary of Studies.

Key week for the PP

We are entering a key week for the PP that has started in Barcelona. Feijóo has traveled there to participate in a conference of the European People’s Party (EPP) in which the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Antonio Tajani, and the president of the EPP Group, Manfred Weber, among others, also participated.

The event, which takes place in the middle of the parliamentary processing of the Amnesty Law, featured a panel titled ‘Defending the principles of the rule of law’.
