SÃO PAULO (Reuters) – The number of cattle slaughtered in Brazil after spending 90 days in confinements will reach around 7.030 million heads in 2023, showed research carried out by Dutch nutrition company DSM Firmenich on Monday.

The projection on intensive animal husbandry represents virtual stability compared to 7.048 million heads in 2022.

Over the years, confinement has grown as Brazilian ranchers look for more efficient ways to finish cattle, DSM executives said at a press conference.
