Actor Liam Neeson teamed up with Jonathan Roumie, protagonist of the series “The Chosen”, to promote a prayer campaign that aims to encourage the personal search for a daily relationship with God.

The campaign will start on the 4th and will be called ‘Advent Pray’. Both actors, Liam and Roumie, will read from books written by Clive Staples Lewis, better known simply as CS Lewis.

During an interview, Liam said he was happy with the initiative, highlighting how much the work of Lewis, author of books such as “Mere Christianity” and also “The Chronicles of Narnia”, is of great importance to the Christian community.

“I will do meditations mainly with CS Lewis in partnership with the Hallow app, which is a great prayer and meditation app,” explained the actor. “It will all be part of a Christmas and Advent challenge to help us really grow deeper in our faith this holiday season.”

Importance of prayer

Asked by Roumie about how he felt when narrating the devotional stories based on Lewis’s works, Liam highlighted prayer as a process that must be permanent.

‘Advent Pray’ was created precisely with this objective, with the purpose of encouraging the creation of a spiritual discipline by Christians, something known as devotional, but which many have not yet established as a habit of relationship with God.

“The prayer itself, the more you repeat it, the deeper you go into it and the deeper the message. It focuses you,” said the actor. He also took the opportunity to invite his followers to participate in the campaign.

“My hope is just that people who join us find a little more hope and peace in their lives,” he added, according to information from ChurchLeaders.
