Bills Player Confronts Eagles Fans in Loss
In the waning moments of the Buffalo Bills’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night, defensive end Shaq Lawson was caught on video appearing to shove an Eagles fan. Lawson, alongside defensive tackle Jordan Phillips and other Bills players, was seen walking from the sideline towards the front row of stands at Lincoln Financial Field, where they began jawing at Eagles fans.
Phillips got close to the face of one fan before Lawson walked up and seemingly made physical contact with the spectator, according to video circulating on social media. Security eventually intervened as the fan continued to shout towards the Buffalo players. Defensive end Leonard Floyd attempted to mitigate the situation and walked the players back to the sideline.
The Bills did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment on the incident Sunday night. The confrontation with the fans overshadowed the Eagles’ 37-34 overtime victory over Buffalo.
The incident is likely to draw scrutiny from the NFL, as the league often investigates altercations between players and fans. It remains to be seen if Lawson or any other Bills players will face any consequences for the incident.
