Two of the most important Latin pop groups in the 90’s performed in El Salvador and filled the stage with good vibes and memories.

The rock band Molotov and the alternative rock band Café Tacvba offered a superb concert at the ball park, Saturnino Bengoa, in San Salvador, where the guitars and drums mixed with the screams and applause of the public.

The first to come out on stage were the members of Molotov, a band that caused controversy and even censorship for its “irreverent” and anti-system lyrics. In fact, El Salvador banned him from entering 20 years ago, for the same reasons.

The fans sang at the top of their lungs songs like Frijolero, Gimme tha Power, Amateur, Parasito, Chinga tu madre, Puto, among others.

The band did not include in its repertoire some songs that were censored in the past: Rastaman-Dita or El carnal de las estrellas, which to this day, some radio stations have them out of their programming.

The turn was for Café Tacvba, this band originally from the State of Mexico whose lead voice is Rubén Albarrán, a great guy full of energy, with good vibes, who covers the stage in all its cardinal points. Surprisingly, Rubén was seen with Molotov while they performed the international hit Gimme tha Power.

Café Tacvba has its own thing. Not only great successes, but also a performance on stage worthy of admiration and applause. Obviously, its members have matured over the years but they retain the essence of their best times of youth.

They delighted with a couple of choreographies, while Rubén asked for “moral support” for the knees of his companions, causing screams and laughter from the audience, who also belonged to the target of the worn out knees.

Without further ado, the band played the most remembered songs: How I miss you my love, Las flores, Olita del altamar (which was dedicated to the element of water), Banda chilanga, Déjate Caer, Eres, El baile y el salon, among others.

And as they have promised, their hit “La ingrata” is no longer part of their repertoire from a social conscience due to the content of the lyrics. The public knew it and did not demand it.

At around 12:30 midnight, attendees left happy, full of energy and good memories.
