Saudi Arabia has once again surprised the world by winning the bid to host the 2030 World Expo in Riyadh. The competition was tough, with Italy and South Korea also vying for the opportunity to host the prestigious event. However, Riyadh emerged victorious, beating out the southeastern city of Busan in South Korea and Rome in Italy.

This is not the first time that Saudi Arabia has been chosen to host major international events. The Expo 2020 was successfully held in Dubai, UAE, and Saudi Arabia is also set to host the 2027 Asian Cup, 2029 Asian Winter Games, and the 2034 Asian Games. In addition, the 2034 World Cup will also be held in the country.

Ahead of the General Assembly meeting, the Saudi Ministry of Information organized an exhibition called Media Oasis in Paris to showcase the country’s transformation and major national projects and initiatives. This included showcasing initiatives such as afforestation in Riyadh, the King Salman Park, Riyadh Art, and King Salman Airport.

Riyadh has already started preparations for the 2030 World Expo, and this event is sure to showcase the country’s progress and development on a global stage. This win marks another milestone for Saudi Arabia and its ambition to become a key player in the international community.
