Quartz Inn Hotels, the collection of independent and sustainable hotels in Europe based in London, has announced the winners of the 2nd edition of the European Sustainable Tourism Awards “GrINN Awards” 2023thus recognizing the great efforts in sustainability matter in the tourism sector of hundreds of hotels and tourism companies from 51 European countries, who competed in 100 categories.
Spain has stood out, winning the highest number of awards, specifically in 17 of the 100 categories of the contest. Hotel chains such as Castilla Termal Hotels or Posadas de España are among the winners, as well as 13 independent hotels and Spanish companies from various parts of the country.
The jury, made up of distinguished figures from the tourism sector, highlighted the importance of continuing to promote good environmental practices in the industry and recognize the efforts of companies in terms of sustainability.
The lineup included Branislava Grbic, Sales Manager at Rosewood Hotels Group; Jolanta Dziewit, Director of Sustainability at iVisitKrakow.com; Francisco Rodríguez Mora, Head Chef of The Trout at Tadpole Bridge; Katie Ellam, CEO of Book Eco Hotels, Roeland Verhamme, CEO of Expect Me and Ignacio Merino, Head of Strategic Alliances at Freetour.com.

Among the winners, the hotel chain Castilla Termal Hoteles stands out, which won 2 awards at a global level and 1 at an individual level with its hotel Castilla Termal Monasterio de Valbuena.
